Scholarships are awarded to the students in the top percentage of each class in amounts up to $15,000 per year.The Academic Scholar is expected to complete a minimum of 30 semester hours and maintain a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.00(B) on all course-work at Samford University.  Some scholarships are mutually exclusive and may not be paired with the Academic scholarship.  Please contact your Admission Counselor for more information.

It can cover up to $1,000 annually and is renewable for up to four years if qualifications are maintained.  The National Merit Scholar is expected to complete a minimum of 30 hours per academic year and maintain a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.00(B) on all course-work at Samford University.  

Scholarships are awarded to the students in the top percentage of each class in amounts up to $18,500 per year.  Due to the number of factors (academics, leadership, involvement) that are considered in the awarding of the Presidential Scholarship, it is mutually exclusive with all other scholarships at Samford with the exception of the Legacy and National Merit Scholarship. Provided the requirements of the scholarship are achieved while enrolled at Samford, these scholarships are renewable for up to four years. Selection for Samford’s most competitive scholarship involves an on-campus interview with the Scholarship Committee. The Presidential Scholar is expected to assist the Office of Admission in student recruitment and become involved in co-curricular activities at Samford. The Scholar must complete a minimum of 30 semester hours at Samford per academic year and maintain a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.00(B) on all course-work at Samford University.  Presidential Scholars are required to live on campus each year.  

It can cover up to $2,000 annually and is renewable for up to four years if qualifications are maintained.  Demonstrated leadership in school, church, and/or community is also strongly taken into consideration.  These students are expected to complete a minimum of 13 hours per semester and maintain a minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.50(C) on all course-work at Samford University.  Some scholarships are mutually exclusive and may not be paired with the Leadership scholarship.  Please contact your Admission Counselor for more information.

It can cover up to $3,450 annually and is renewable for up to four years if renewable qualifications are met.  The Minister Dependent Scholarship recipient is required to maintain a cumulative grade point average of 2.50(C) on all coursework at Samford University.  Some scholarships are mutually exclusive and may not be paired with the Minister Dependent scholarship.  Please contact your Admission Counselor for more information.

It can cover up to $1,000 annually and is renewable for up to four years if renewal qualifications are met.  The student is required to maintain a cumulative grade point average of 2.50 (C) on all course-work at Samford University.
